The Venus Star a Co-Creative Intelligence

The Venus Cycle.

Venus and her cycle is by far the most interesting and rhythmic of all planetary cycles, besides that of the lunation cycle which is much quicker and transient, the Venus cycle is made up of 8 year, 4 year, 9.5month and 19 month cycles, which we can use to plan, incubate, create, remember and work with.
The timing of the Venus cycle.
        • 9.5 months (plus a few days)– A conjunction with the Sun occurs every 9.5 months alternating from inferior to exterior conjunction
        • 19 months – 1.6 years = 584 days= One synodic cycle of Venus
From one inferior conjunction to the next. Synodic meaning meeting place, in this case the meeting place of  Sun/Earth/Venus.
Venus will return to the same phase of her cycle e.g max elongation evening star position, every 19 months.
This won’t  be the same place in the zodiac due to the fast and slow movements of Venus. When approaching the Earth Venus slows, when moving away she speeds up, overtaking the Sun in speed after the exterior conjunction as she becomes an evening star.
        • 48 months -4 years – Venus makes a conjunction with the Sun in the same Star Point position as she did 4 years prior,  but 4  years before it was in the opposite position e.g next time Venus makes a conjunction with the Sun in Capricorn will be in Jan 2018, but it will be an exterior conjunction and the last time an exterior conjunction was made at the Capricorn star point was January 2010.
        • 96 months – 8 years– The Venus Return- It takes 8 years for Venus to return to the same place in the zodiac as well as the same place in relation to the Sun, as in this retrograde in Capricorn at 21 degrees, 8 years ago occurred at 23 Capricorn. All returns are within 1-2 degrees. Every 8 years we experience our own Venus return, where Venus returns to the same place and positions as she was when we were born. It takes 5 synodic cycles to create a Venus Star around the zodiac, 8 years.
        • The magic of the Venus cycle unfolds with every loop,  with one synodic cycle,  she forms a rose petal, also a heart shape and then another and another every 1.6 years. A  magnificent rose begins to form around the zodiac and our astrology chart!. I have made an animation of this sequence posted on our Facebook page which shows exactly how this pattern is made.

The Sun our guiding light our number one star, symbolic of life force itself, purpose, growth and unity consciousness absorbs Venus into his heart at these conjunctions. Two hearts come together as Venus too has a heart, embodying all that represents love, attraction, peace and harmony. A truly alchemical and passionate embrace the integration of the divine feminine and masculine, a sacred marriage, fusing  creative principles and  symbolically our our own passion and purpose.

The Sun and Venus come together every 9.5 months, from one conjunction, inferior, to the next superior, and so on. A constantly forming cycle making a pentagon around the zodiac reminding us of the eternal cycle of creation . This current pentagon is created in the signs of Gemini 15, Aries 5, Capricorn 19, Scorpio 2 and Leo 21 in that order. Every second time they meet they create the wonderful Pentacle around the zodiac, with 5 retrograde loops made every 1.6 years taking 8 years to complete one complete cycle around the zodiac.

ARIES 5, rx March 17
Capricorn 19, Jan 18
SCORPIO 2 , rx, Oct 18
Leo 21, Aug 19
GEMINI 14, rx June 2020
Aries 3,  March 21
CAPRICORN, rx Jan 2022
etc etc

Besides the Heart, Rose and Pentacle, the Venus cycle is closely linked to the ratios of  Sacred Geometry, the Golden Mean as well as the Fibonacci sequence.  As Venus makes her 5 points in 8 years the ratio 5/8  is  1.6, 1.6 years being also her synodic cycle, this ratio is  known also as the phi ratio, the divine proportion in sacred geometry. Sacred geometry is a science that explains physical energy patterns of growth and harmony, found everywhere in the natural world. We see these examples in the nautilus shell, a spiral galaxy and an unfolding rose  and these principles and ratios have been used since ancient times in art, design and architecture to create harmony, balance, aesthetics and beauty . The Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical formula of growth, 1,1,2,3,5,8,13 etc,  also embodies this phi ratio where each subsequent number is the sum of the previous two and divide as the 1.6 ratio.  We are reminded with these exquisite connections of Venus and her cycle around the Sun as a pure and divine creative force.

Hi there! I am doing my dissertation on archaeoastronomy of the Maya and i am trying to illustrate what Venus may have looked like during its cycle, that correlate to dates given on monumental inscriptions. I am very new to the understanding of astronomy, and i was wondering if this website, or any other website you may know of, can provide me with images or descriptions of what Venus may have looked like. For example, one of my dates refers to a position of Venus with an eastern elongation of 5 degrees, and a time interval after superior conjunction of 22 days. I have no idea what this means, but i know that it was significant to the Maya.

      Hi Jodie,
If you give me specific dates i can tell you more. That of it self doesn’t tell me enough about what i can help with. My work can help tell you her position in the sky but i would need specific dates. These guidelines would take much research otherwise! Thanks Julija
