Exploring : Dwads/ Duads/Dwadasamsa

In astrology, a decan is the subdivision of a sign. In order to give fuller interpretation to the Zodiac Signs, ancient astrologers subdivided each Sign into periods of approximately ten days. A decan can be broken into further 4 little segments that are called Dwads or Duads. Dwad and duad are short for dwadasamsa. A dwad is 1/12 of a zodiacal sign, that is, 2ï¿½ degrees of arc.
