Kepler’s Trigon, depicting the Saturn Jupiter cycle back in 1700 and 1800’s. Moving from 1603,1623,1643,1663,1683,1703, 1723, 1743. 1763 as the cycle transitioned from Water signs to Fire signs. The cycles of 200 years move backwards in elements, Fire, Earth, Air, Water, and together depict a larger cycle of 800 years.[/caption]So moving on to 2020, with a line up of planets in the Capricorn, sign of governments and the systems we have established that support our world, there is no doubt we are moving toward an overhaul. The Uranus Pluto squares have been the awakening, now we move toward the implementation of change, especially as Uranus moves to Taurus early 2018. The combination of planets and dwarfs in early 2020 is extremely rare, having searched for the last 1000 years for conjunctions like this, which include Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn in tight orb, I found 1246 and 1682, yet only with much wider orbs of up to 17° in 1682 and 13° in 1246.

Jupiter and Saturn now in a waning square are due for there next conjunction at Zero Aquarius, after this Capricorn stellium takes place, exact for the solstice of Dec 2020. The exact conjunctions of Saturn and Jupiter, before the outer planets were known, were considered the biggest and most important conjunctions by astrologers of the past, known as the chronocrators, time keepers, called the Great Conjunctions. These conjunctions, all conjunctions being planetary starting points, seeding points where new cycles begin, will certainly defining the shape of things to come, as a grand new cycle begins in Aquarius. With the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius, we also start off a new element of conjunctions in Air which last approx 200 years. The last cycle of Jupiter Saturn conjunctions which occur every 20 years, have been occurring in sigs, the last of which happened in Taurus in the year, we’ve had the GFC, the realisation of incredible world debt, economies weakening. The ongoing 20 year conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn have been occurring in earth signs since the early 1900’s and the dawn of the industrial revolution. One Air conjunction happened in 1980 in Libra, but from 2020 we move fully to the element of Air for the next 200 years. This is the begining of another significant 200 year cycle, coupled with a new Saturn Pluto cycle that begins earlier in 2020. Saturn and Pluto have an approx 38 year cycle and were last joined together in Nov 1982 at 27° Libra. The midpoint of this cycle happened in 2001 in the signs of Sagittarius -Pluto and Saturn Gemini, and awareness of what really happens in our world, and who we can trust changed forever! Their cycles reflect the great transformational pull of social, political and economic structures. With Jupiter and Saturn ending their cycle in earth and begining a new Air trigon, when all their conjunction for the next 200 years will occur in Air signs, we move toward alleviating our dependence of our material needs and the strain on the resources of the planet, with major shifts taking hold in the way the economy works as technology and science mixed with cyberspace take the reigns.

New beginnings are upon us in so many ways, and we are in the chaos of transition.

Since the first exact square back last June 2012, we can all still sense that more unrest is on the way. We know that so much more needs to be done, so much more needs to happen in order for us to feel as though things have actually changed or are actually changing and hopefully for the better. It is the tension, the build up, the constant buzz that keeps us well tuned, alert and alarmed, as Pluto and Uranus do their thing squaring off to each other now and into 2015, and beyond. At every exact square we reach a marker, a point in time, another detonation of the ticking time bomb. There is much to be done before this transformational energy wears off, before the moment is gone, with too much at risk to continue as before.

With every strike Uranus makes we are alerted to more upheaval and with every rumble of Pluto more is revealed. This whole process, the unfolding of the Uranus Pluto square(and extras) is like opening up a collective can of worms. The more we prod, the more we uncover. The more we uncover, the more decay , corruption and rot we find. The more we find and uncover, the more we notice and the more we are made aware of. The more we notice, the deeper we go. So it goes, with every lightening bolt hit from Uranus another layer is exposed from Pluto’s tough exterior. Yet thank the Gods, Uranus aims persistently to get to the core and reveals what lurks within. It is fortunate that this ongoing saga will take time as there is so much to get through. This Uranus Pluto ongoing square undoubtedly one of the major astrological influences of this current era, persistently reshaping the world around us.

Uranus, the Sky God and Pluto, the Lord of the underworld, exist in completely different realms,* one is of light and the other dark, one high above, the other deep down below. Uranus seeks light and brings to humanity enlightenment, Pluto prefers the dark nether regions and makes us experience dark and fearful places. Never the twain were meant to meet, yet a square placement between planets shows that they confront each other, it’s unavoidable, they/we must get it together, make it work somehow in order to evolve, move on and survive. Layer by layer with every square hit, what is exposed is another series of crises or revelations, bursts of enlightenment that help us to see through the dark. Confronting the dark we encounter that which is left unattended, ignored, forgotten, decaying and all that is not wanting to be seen. We all become further exposed somehow, we feel more vulnerable as we are exposed to our core truths and beliefs, to what we stand by and for in this world. We constantly re-acknowledge how we fit in or not , as this process allows as to truly see what we are made of. Through it all we at times feel refreshed and reignited as we partake in the process of global renewal. Times they are unstable, yet the instability of not knowing what’s next is somehow strangely liberating, we break the mould of certainty as we continue to expose our true selves and that of the world we live in, the hard core reality.

Wherever Capricorn is in your own chart, where Pluto now grumbles, is the house that denotes where we’ve worked hard on something, where we have established ourselves, a place where we may have perhaps reached the top. Now we question the meaning of that as our plans, directions and motivations change. Uranus the cosmic question mark, probes you to acknowledge how it is now, as that which has been is now going, going, gone, and we are motivated to follow a new path. Pluto makes us face our own organic evolution, a birth, a death, a rebirth of some sorts. Whilst in the house of Aries, where Uranus is a radical New You is being forged. Your appearance, your attitude, your new insights now take hold, and as colleague Jessica Adams says, the Selfie reigns supreme, never have we shown the world so much of ourselves. As the world changes around us, we too can make the most of the makeover. We have been ignited, to burst out, to reinvent ourselves, keeping ourselves well tuned with the changing worldview. Our own experience the microcosm, is reflected in the world at large, the macrocosm.

Eris is here too in Aries and activating all Agents of change with the Pluto Uranus squares. Eris is in Aries to all born after 1922, targeting most specifically people born from 1945 – 1990, with Eris between 6° -20° Aries, (and those born now, will carry this radical signature, Eris/Uranus). Eris presses our buttons further to activate change, pressing our buttons of being fed up with the system, fed up with the powers that be and the systems in place, giving rise to the disgruntled and dissatisfied masses. Clearly showing with the women’s Marches of 2017, the protests throughout the USA against the new president and his actions and more across the globe. Eris the goddess of Discord, war Goddess, causes strife when the system isn’t inclusive of her, as she did when uninvited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis attended by the Gods and Goddesses, as the Greek Myth goes.

The layers of renewal are targeted at 8,6,11,9,13 and 15 (and into 2016 and 2017 16 – 24° with Jupiter) degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries and Capricorn, creating a zone of transformation in whichever astrological chart we may look at. This is where we see the transformation of the new self emerge. It is important to note** that during these times we also look for the midpoint of these two dynamic planets, moving between 22 Leo-Aquarius to 2 Virgo –Pisces, another zone of focus to pay attention to. Saturn will move to square this volatile midpoint as it transits the end degrees of Scorpio late 2014. At the last square in 2015 the midpoint will conjunct Regulus at zero Virgo, highlighting our change towards leadership in the world. Jupiter will transit Leo in 2015 being at these midpoint degrees after the last exact Pluto Uranus square, with the square still within orb.

• Midpoint Pluto Uranus – 22 Leo-Aquarius to 1 Virgo Pisces

The dates for the exact squares show that every exact square has either Pluto or Uranus retrograde. This second hit sees Uranus retrograde in its closest pass to the Earth, with Pluto just stationed direct, we may say that more energy is directed to change and rebellion at this time. Whereas when Pluto is retrograde we get a deeper look into what lies beneath, a focus on uncovering and probing deeper into core issues. Interestingly, during the last square both Pluto and Uranus will be direct and the midpoint of the two will have moved to mutable Pisces –Virgo(and conjunct Regulus). With an eclipse occurring at 29 Pisces, just after the last square and close to the Aries ingress, we get a sense that something new will have begun as the exact squares culminate. For those who have planets in Aries and Capricorn and in the other two cardinal signs, Libra and Cancer, this ongoing square will be felt with more intensity as radical events reshape your life. For many of us Eris is transited by this dynamic square, helping us raise our unheard voices into the scheme of things, vast generations of individuals are being awoken by Uranus to speak up and be heard from 30 to 70 year olds. From 1945 to 1984 Eris moved through Aries between 6 and 15 degrees. Other generations will also feel the call of Pluto and Uranus more strongly having outer planets between 6 and 15(and up to 20°) degrees of Cardinal signs.

We are constantly reminded that this square is reminiscent to that of the 1930’s, when national tensions were escalating, with a great depression and a stock market crash all contributing to extreme and difficult times, very similar to now. In the 1930’s this was all happening during a waning square of Pluto and Uranus, with Uranus in Aries and Pluto ahead in the zodiac in Cancer. That particular cycle began in 1850 in Aries. We now experience a waxing, an opening square with Uranus ahead in the zodiac and Pluto behind in the zodiac in Capricorn, with the seeding of this cycle having taken place in 1965 in Virgo. Every cycle of Pluto and Uranus is unique. The last opening square of Pluto and Uranus was in 1876 and 1877 occurring at 24, 22 and 25degrees of Taurus /Leo, with Pluto in Taurus and Uranus ahead in the zodiac in Leo. At this time, the world was abuzz with imperialist growth. The conquering of the wild west was in full swing in the USA and the development of the first motor car engine was on the drawing board. There was a significant rise in labour strikes resulting in the formation of labour unions, and at the same time the impressionist movement was taking hold as they too had a new way of looking at the world. Uranus in Fire, Pluto in Earth as is now, a spirit of invention and growth, power and ownership, freedom and genocide.

A complete cycle of Pluto and Uranus varies from being anywhere from 115 to 140 years apart. As Pluto’s orbit is elliptical and uneven it spends different amounts of time in different signs. Pluto cycles through Scorpio quickly (as it can’t stand it for very long) and slowly through Taurus as (it can’t get enough) * .Depending on where the seeding of the cycle began, depends how much time there will be between each square and opposition. This current opening square has taken 48 years to unfold, now till the opposition there will be 36 years, and the complete waning stage of this cycle will be only 54 years.

Looking back at previous seeding moments of this dynamic cycle, we see that Aries has been the most frequent place for these two to meet, ushering in new era’s of change and evolution. The 1965 -66 conjunction in Virgo changed the dynamic when Virgo took over from masculine dominated signs. With the next conjunction in Taurus, then Libra, although Libra not a feminine sign, it is Venus ruled and supports the shift from masculine to feminine signs. A return to the sacred feminine has begun, supported by Regulus, star of Kings moving from Leo into Virgo in 2011, the elevation of Ceres and Vesta to dwarf planet status, and the discoveries of Eris and Sedna adding to Goddess energy previously dominated by masculine Gods circling our solar system.

So as we consider this unique cycle of Pluto and Uranus we are careful not to rehash the past and wait for the same to occur, we strive to move forward, as this particular cycle holds its own unique signature. This particular waxing square in Aries and Capricorn is even more unique when we try and find the same combination in history. The closest I found with Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Cap was 1762 with Pluto at zero Capricorn, and Uranus at 5 Aries, the exact squares had already taken place years earlier in late Sagittarius and Pisces. This was a time of Rousseau and Kant, American Independence was brewing, as revolutions and revolts took place all over the world, like that of slaves in Jamaica, many people were displaced, battles, wars, rebellions and revolts too numerous to mention where happening everywhere. After animating a solar fire chart, I was amazed to find that I had to go back more than 3ooo years to the years 1169/68/67/66 BCE to find the same combination of a waxing exact square between Uranus and Pluto in the signs of Aries and Capricorn. This was the time of Ramesses the 5th in Egypt, tales of the rivers of Babylon and an age far enough back to be full of myth and legend . But something truly interesting relating to our time of Chaos and Discord now in 2012 and beyond is that back in 1166 BCE the Discordian Calendar was introduced. Interestingly Eris is now at 22 Aries which is where Uranus was when this square in 1166 BCE between Pluto and Uranus took place, connecting this time now to back then, through Eris, Pluto Uranus Discord and Chaos.Maybe we need a new calendar, but radical we must be to harness this discordant energy and make sense of the Chaos. Chaos is the word given to mean, the void before creation and opens our world to many possibilities, a refresh, a new beginning in so many ways.
