Jovial Houseguest: Mars in Scorpio

/
Mars returns to his second home on 9 December, and finds his friend Jupiter in the house. Last time Mars was in Scorpio, in early 2016, he had the place to himself – no doubt a relief after hosting Saturn for a couple of years earlier in the decade. Mars may have limited tolerance for Jupiter’s upbeat and outgoing attitude, but in the sign of the scorpion even Jupiter is inclined to tone it down a bit and focus on serious matters.

NEPTUNE STATIONS DIRECT - OUT OF CHOAS EMERGES CLARITY

/
King of the oceans, the Roman Neptune (Greek Poseidon) rules primarily the seas and all other waterways, earthquakes, and horses. Water shape shifts; it flows; such fluidity helps us all adjust, fill, buoy or, more negatively, drown. Ergo, Neptune’s not exactly a black and white kinda energy… Often, water correlates to mood, intuition, sensitivity, and empathy. Represented by the ebb and flow of the ocean’s waves as the tide rises and recedes, Neptune’s indicative of a collectively eternal situation that calls for a certain amount of surrender in order to go with the natural flow…

Birthing the New Reality - Saturn at Galactic Centre

/
Saturn at the Galactic Centre during 2017 makes the times we are living in ever more more interesting. As a relatively new area of exploration and a new concept for astrologers, after exploring the images and the symbols of such a potent energy and planets in this area in the past, I can certainly see merit in using The Galactic Centre as a representation of not only being pulled into something larger than life, but also as a conduit to a great symbol of a most creative force in that exists in oneself and in our collective destiny.

Venus, the Descent of Inanna and the 7 Gates

/
After her maximum elongation from the Sun, post retrograde, as a morning star , Venus begins the next stage of her evolutionary cycle. From the emergent phase of youth, and the stability of her maximum elongation,

Iron Fist Velvet Glove: Mars in Libra OCT 22 - Dec 9

/
The Cosmic Warrior puts on his dress uniform for six weeks, minding his manners and following protocol as he marches through Venus’ second home. Libran harmony is inimical to the more impulsive Mars, and in this sign he can have difficulty expressing himself directly. Yet with Venus in mutual reception with him for much of the time he’s in the sign of the scales (from 7 November to 1 December), it’s possible that this will be a productive time – bargaining and negotiations with a hint of force, diplomacy from a place of power... an iron fist in a velvet glove?

Jupiter in Scorpio - Exploring the mysteries - Oct 10 2017 - Nov 8 2018

/
Jupiter, defined by learning and expansion, is like the adjective `big’ when it transits a sign. This suggests that the spotlight will be on ``big’ transformation, the core Scorpio issue, for the next twelve months. Jupiter spends approximately one year per sign, as it takes twelve years to make a complete orbit around the sun. Each of us have a Jupiter return year every twelve years-a year of new growth, risk-taking and exploration.

The Devil’s in the Details: Mars in Virgo (5 September – October, 2017)

/
Mars ends a bold six weeks in Leo on 5 September, taking more cautious steps as he enters Virgo. Mars likes action, while Virgo is a more considerate sign, sometimes given to vacillation and second-guessing. In the sign of the Virgin, Mars sometimes doesn’t know what to do, yet he isn’t given to sitting still, either. A good cause is just the thing to motivate him – and us – to make the most of this six week period.

The Leo Aquarius Lunar Nodes – Destiny in our hands, hearts, and brains.

/
With Jupiter moving to Scorpio in October 2017, and Mars travelling through a retrograde cycle for almost 6 months in Aquarius in the course of 2018, and lastly Uranus moving into Taurus by May 2018, we see a strong emphasis in Fixed signs. Subsequently, the following years 2019-2020 will return to the strong Cardinal flavor with heavy emphasis returning to Pluto in Capricorn.

Commander in Chief: Mars in Leo (20 July  – 5 September, 2017)

/
Hot celestial weather awaits, both north and south of the equator, for Mars’ stay in Leo. The red planet will be making hot aspects, adding fire to fire, and triggering the Great American Eclipse (as it’s been called) during his six weeks in Leo. Expect a bold entrance, as the Cosmic Warrior strides into the Sun’s home sign

Are the Home Fries Burning? Mars in Cancer 2017 June 4th - July 20th

/
Mars enters the sign of the crab on 4 June, 2017 and stays underwater until 20 July. In Cancer, Mars is more likely to advocate for kith and kin than for self. It is a somewhat primal and protective placement for the Cosmic Warrior, and we’re likely to see a kind of aggressive defense in many arenas, especially international politics. Expect that there will be a lot of flag waving and chest thumping, for these seven weeks.

Deep down from the Hearth - The Cancer Solstice - June 21st UT 2017

/
There is much more in the world that unifies us than separates us, as the ripples of uncertainty radiate across the globe, yet at certain times of the year we can look to our universal light, the Sun for clarity, guidance and meaning. The Sun God in ancient Greek times, Apollo, was a God of prophecy and healing, an oracle and as the son of Zeus, truth. In astrology the light of the Sun is the most significant symbol of any astrological chart, it is the centre and the core of all astrological readings. So as the Sun appears to reach its furthest stretch into the Northern hemisphere (remember "Appears to", as we our Earth is the one that is turning and tilting on its axis) we have one of the major turning points(tilting extremes) of the year, the June Solstice. As astrologers we call it the Cancer Ingress, when the Sun enters the sign of Cancer, one of the four cardinal points and major turning points in our astrological wheel.

Nodal Shift - Leo/Aquarius - What makes you Happy!

/
What makes you happy? And, what is holding you back from embracing your bliss? These questions and more are about to bubble forth into the collective consciousness as the lunar nodes ingress into the Leo/Aquarius polarity beginning on May 9th 2017. Goodbye to the serve or suffer polarity of Virgo/ Pisces. We are about to embrace a new theme until December of 2018; the role of Individual creativity against the backdrop of group-think.

Saturn retrograde 28°- 21° Sagittarius April 6th - Aug 25th

/
Saturn retrogrades on April 6th 2017 at 6:06 am UTC at the 28th degree of Sagittarius and emerges station direct on August 25th 2017 at Sagittarius 21. We have a lot of work to do during these four months and here are some thoughts to assist in our journey. Let’s begin with Saturn in Sagittarius. Since September of 2015 Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius has offered us the opportunity to consider and name our beliefs, philosophies and spiritual leanings. As the great energy of boundaries and definitions, Saturn rules limits, rules, and structure. Life’s meaning is based upon whatever choices we consider to be true fed by the Gemini axis of logic, research and facts. My definition of what is true to me (Sagittarius) is based upon whatever information (Gemini) I have at my disposal.

Talking Points: Mars in Gemini (21 April to 4 June, 2017)

/
On 21st April, Mars begins six weeks in Gemini, where he encourages us to assert ourselves verbally. Barbed words and clever turns of phrase are common when the Cosmic Warrior is in Gemini, a placement that calls to mind courtroom drama, acerbic standup comedy, and biting satire. Fiery political rhetoric is likely – and in the sign of the twins Mars doesn’t mind amplifying both sides of a debate. Yet Mars in Gemini isn’t only verbal. Mars is the planet of action, and he moves quickly in Mercury’s sign (although perhaps a bit less quickly for a while

Chiron and healing Spirit

/
The energy of Chiron, the healer-redeemer, is in the air. I find this a most fascinating subject when thinking of humanity and our ongoing struggle to find peace, harmony and health. Life is such a paradox of tears and ecstasy, and embodying this conflict is the story of the Centaur. Chiron was the product of a rape and abandoned by his parents he had to set out alone to find his true power, until one day he got struck by an arrow dipped in poison that kept him in excruciating pain until his release into death.

Aiming to Please: Mars in Taurus (9 March to 21 April, 2017)

/
Mars leaves his home sign of Aries for Venus’ sign of Taurus on 9 March, ushering about six weeks of earthy energy. In the sign of the bull, Mars is just as passionate as ever, but his attention is directed towards the senses, material concerns, and – to an extent – pleasure. Taurus is certainly a rather sexual placement for the Cosmic Warrior, and this time around it coincides closely with Venus’ retrograde,

Jupiter retrograde- Feb - June 2017 - 23°-13° Libra

/
Jupiter in Libra shifts into retrograde motion on Monday February 6, 2017 at 6:52 am UTC, beginning its’ five months’ long trek into the realm of redoing, reconnecting and realignment. It’s time to explore our beliefs (Jupiter) about relationships (Libra) and as with anything in astrology…so much more. The sabian symbol for the Jupiter retrograde at 23 degrees of Libra is the `third wing on the left side of a butterfly.’ An extra wing on the delicate butterfly may look intriguing and even beautiful, but the lopsided appendage would handicap flight.

Mars in Aries : 28 Jan- March 9th, Immediate Action Required.

/
As January comes to a close, Mars reaches his home sign of Aries. After six weeks of swimming through the emotional and sometimes draining waters of Pisces (draining for Mars, at least), the Cosmic Warrior dries out and warms himself by the fire of his home sign.

Venus in Pisces: Addicted to Love 3 January - 3 February, 2017

/
Venus, the planet we most associate with relationship and love, spends four weeks in Pisces this year. As we expect with the sign of the fish, things can go to extremes - and move in several directions at once. Pisces is considered the exaltation of Venus, the sign in which her energies are best expressed. Venus in Pisces is more about agape, or compassionate, universal love, than it is about eros, or personal, erotic love. Venus in Pisces may be more inclined to wear a nun’s wimple than a beauty crown, more likely to offer alms to the poor than her arms in an embrace. With Mars in Pisces, we’ll be tempted to go to extremes in all areas of life, from politics to sexuality. It’s an intense energy that can push us forward at top speed, only to realize that we’re lost.

The Sacred Dance of: Venus and Mars

/
The heavenly dance of Venus and Mars mirrors the nature of personal relationships. Mars must venture out into the world on his hero’s quest alone, and Venus cannot go where Mars goes, she must stay within 48 degrees of the Sun; just as traditionally men went out hunting or to work, and women stayed at home cooking, looking after the children, keeping the home fires burning.
