There’s a ripple in the cosmos this week; the great awakener, Uranus, retrogrades on August 11th at the 6th degree of Taurus. This Uranus journey retrograde, or `inward,’ continues until January 10th 2020. Uranus is the `mad cap professor’ which inspires by shaking the status quo through the tools of detached brilliance. Uranus is the energy of the odd. Even the astronomical planet orbits on its side axis, a metaphor for the maverick. Uranus represents eccentric, eclectic, electricity, science, energy, innovation and inspired change. As one of the `big three’ transpersonal change planets, Uranus serves as a generation marker because it remains in any given sign for about seven years. This means once every 84 years the energy repeats; 2018-2026 will resemble 1934-1941 in terms of focused change applied to Taurus themes.
t’s that time again when Mercury begins to slow down and start its retrograde cycle. This phenomenon happens three or four times a year, and each retrograde cycle emphasises different themes, depending on Mercury’s sign and aspects to other planets. This time, it comes to a standstill in the sign of Leo and shifts back into Cancer on July 19 before stationing direct on July 31. Let’s discuss the themes of this Mercury retrograde and tips for how to make the most of this time, sign by sign.Mercury retrograde is an optical illusion that happens three or four times a year when
Total Solar Eclipse (New Moon)

10 degrees 37 minutes CancerThe Eclipse EffectSolar Eclipses are New Moons aligned with the Lunar Nodes, symbolic of personal and collective evolution. They open a portal to the numinous where synchronicity and twists of fate become more apparent. While this is a Total Solar Eclipse, totality will only be viewable in some parts of Chile and Argentina, but the eclipse effect will impact us all in varying ways depending upon how it interacts with your natal chart. It’s worth noting this season also includes a Mercury retrograde, which I’ll address in depth in a future posting.
All retrogrades are times of adjustment. You know the `re’ words; redo, reevaluate, redesign, rethink, reflect whenever a planet retrogrades. Saturn, like all planets, retrogrades with regularity. THIS retrograde of Saturn is somewhat epic because of its cat and mouse alignment with two other powerful players; Pluto and the south node of the moon. As Saturn retrogrades it triggers the south node of `endings’ with an exact conjunction as it nears transformational Pluto. All this can truly stir up a whole lot of fear!
Pluto Retrograde: April 24 – October 3, 2019 23° to 20° degrees Capricorn. Pluto stations retrograde on April 24 to begin his 5-month retrograde journey, and as the Lord of the Underworld grinds to a halt, shadow material begins to emerge. An outer planet like Pluto often takes up to 10 days either side of the station to make the shift and as it does, it’s impact intensifies.
It’s that time again; Mercury is retrograde. It stations retrograde at 10:19 am on March 5th at 29˚39 Pisces. This one will be a doozy! I’ll give you a little insight about what it could mean for you as well as offer a few tips to help you gracefully move through these three weeks. When the planet of communication appears to come to a standstill and begin to move backward, it steals the celestial show. It commands attention, and in doing so, it calls us all to look at our Mercury-related stuff. How are you communicating with others? Circumstances in your life could show up to help you remedy some of these behaviors, and you won’t have a choice. You will have to face some fears, feel some doubts, and consider changing your ways.
With Mercury retrograde tips and mantras for each sign
Mercury is technically retrograde from the 17th November until the 6th December. However, if you are exploring the psycho-spiritual process related to this celestial phenomenon, there is a lead in and lead out time that extends the Mercurial Retrograde process from the 6th November through to the 15th December. This entire process refers to the time prior to the retrograde wherein Mercury is at its furthest distance from the Sun in the evening skies until the time that it ascends as far away from the Sun as he possibly can climb in the early morning skies.
Mercury is about to retrograde yet again, this time for the 1st loop in 2018 and I am sure that you eagerly anticipating more warnings concerning signing documents; losing keys; data disappearing into the cloud; electricity outages; communications mishaps and delays?
But is the purpose of this thrice(2017 begins and ends with Mercury rx) annual cycle to frustrate and annoy you? Is it solely about negative things happening? If so, are these increased challenges the sole domain of Mercury approaching his Inferior Conjunction with the Sun?
Many spiritual traditions speak of a set of common themes interwoven into the notion of ‘40’ – ritualistic cleansing, purification, prayer, inner reflection, stillness in preparation for a renewal of spirit and ultimately a re-birthing of the light within. The internalised conflict and testing of each stories ends with an orb of light bathing the seeker in a glorious radiance of light;
With Saturn’s ingress into Capricorn, the Venus Star Point in Capricorn and Uranus’ entry into Taurus this year, the earth signs are prominent. Coming out of 2017’s intense planetary line-up of fire, earth feels like a relief. With its needs for practicality and grounding along with sensible actions, manifestation of those visionary dreams seems more likely. The focus is on slowing down, taking things one at a time. This is especially true after mid-May when Taurus receives Uranus.
