February Overview:

Three planets ended retrograde cycles in January (Mercury, Mars, and Uranus). Mars retrograde happens less frequently and therefore is more significant, especially in terms of karmic implication.

Whether an undercurrent or an obvious matter, it is likely that Mars has occupied you with a particular circumstance, learning curve, or dilemma since last August or so. Perhaps you have felt yourself to be in a holding pattern, unable to see your way clear, or to get it moved forward. Perhaps the Mars retrograde transit has rerouted you temporarily or delayed the inevitable. To March 26, Mars (now direct) is on the last leg of its seven-month tour. This marks the defining, deciding, implementation, and next page portion of the cycle.

February 4 to the start of April: Venus/Mars move to a next phase:

Can’t keep doing it the same, and don’t want to. Something has to give way. As of February 4, Venus turns a corner with Mars. Through February 19, Venus in Pisces, acts as a “tuning fork influence”, this regarding what’s floating in the ethers. To the plus, Venus in Pisces can stimulate inspiration and imagination. At the evolutionary level, Venus in Pisces aims to expose or dissolve what stands in the way of bringing the potential into being. That can translate into meeting with heart’s desire, or dissolving the illusion.

From now to April, Venus/Mars shift from externalized focus to internal development, toward building from the inside out rather than vice versa. At this stage of the game, Venus/Mars aim to rework it rather than to repeat the past or to foster more of the same. Venus/Mars will now resource from the potential that is on brew but that has not yet fully surfaced. Watch for the next two months to expose or reveal what is of value or worthwhile. In so doing, Venus/Mars will either put you better in touch or shift your opinion of wants, desires, and ideals. Of course, Pisces influences also incorporate an element of the uncertain or nebulous. If you feel confused about how to play it next, trust that clarity will come through experience and the unfolding of time. Stay open-ended and allow for circumstances to reveal your best choices.

Full Moon in Leo, February 5:

Are you happy and thriving? Feeling the love, the joy, the acknowledgement? Are you meeting with success and fulfillment? The full moon in Leo on February 5 shines the spotlight on life’s rewards (or lack thereof), and on matters of the heart. A special someone and/or an upgrade of self love claims center stage too. Are you getting the acknowledgement and recognition you feel you deserve? Uranus in tension to the full moon signals a breakthrough time of significance. You could feel the workings of this full moon as the clarion call to a reinvented lifestyle, career, or relationship with yourself. It could be your time to shine. Look for the gifts of the moment and take destiny into your own hands.

Ceres in Libra turns retrograde, opposes Jupiter in Aries, Feb 3 – 5: One extreme to another:

Asteroid Ceres turns retrograde in Libra on February 3. This transit is yet another signature of karmic recall and replay. Greatly increasing the potency of this karmic dial-up, Ceres forms an opposition to Jupiter in Aries on the full moon of February 5. Ceres/Jupiter can strip away any false narrative or rationalization that prevents you from being truthful with yourself. In relationship to the creative potency of full moon in Leo, Jupiter in Aries encourages you to put confidence and courage to the test, to go the distance for yourself. Go for what you want and deserve, even if that means breaking free and operating as a group of one. Take the lead, be first. A fresh start or independent initiative is where it is at! This transit can be mobilizing in many different ways. It can incite or inflame, it could trigger aggression and/or force a hand. It can be a difficult transit for matters to do with diplomacy, peace-making, or playing nice. The transit could signal a time to break or revise a contract, to reconsider legal options, or to switch to another advisor, lawyer, or advocate.

Bookend transits: Mercury/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, February 10;
Sun/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius, February 16:

February 10, aim to put ambition to work and/or to make it official. Mercury/Pluto can cement the deal and/or make it real. This conjunction sets a productive backdrop for accomplishment, attainment, and completion. Off with the old and on to something fresh and new, Mercury enters Aquarius on February 11. Even so, there may be something more to uncover, sort out, or complete in the week that follows, especially February 15 (Venus/Neptune conjunction), and February 16 (Sun/Saturn conjunction). Feb 10 to 16 can see things shape up or complete in some definitive or official way.

Sun into Pisces, Venus into Aries:

February 18, the sun enters Pisces. February 19, Venus begins a three-week tour of Aries, (a good transit to spice it up and/or put passion into action). February 22, Mercury trine Mars keeps it moving along well. By month’s end you should feel that you have a good handle on yourself and that life is rolling along at a fairly good pace.

To recap: Do you feel yourself or your life to be at a crossroads? You are. It is. If you are running out of steam, stop chasing the elusive. If it is naturally dissolving, surrender to the process, don’t hang on, let it go. If you are unclear about the direction forward, give yourself more time to feel your way along. Trust time as your best advisor or advocate. In the meantime, ditch the bricks that are weighing you down unnecessarily. Clear your clutter, think positive, and get ready to welcome something fresh and new. Major change is on the roster for each and everyone. As you move through the month ahead, you will become better informed. March holds three important planetary advances. Saturn ends its two-and-a-half-year transit of Aquarius on March 6. Mars leaves Gemini for Cancer on March 26. Pluto gives us our first preview of Aquarius on March 23. Pluto is the planet that correlates to the soul of the collective, the soul of a generation, and to your personal soul path too. This momentous transit positions us at the brink of a radically reinvented reality.

Pluto in Aquarius, the Evolutionary Astrology Perspective:

Leaving no stone unturned, Pluto’s transit through Aquarius marks a time of significant and lasting change at all levels of existence. A preview of the future and its mandate is already well in evidence. It is readily witnessed through increasing threats to survival on the planet caused by Mother Nature and by human choices, through innovations in science and technology that serve to accelerate the revolutionising of daily life, and through the growing number of souls that are awakening to a higher level of consciousness. Considering that Pluto correlates to evolution and Aquarius to liberation, the potential for profound inner change and soul growth is at its prime. How can you best ready yourself for the years ahead?
