Mercury turns Retrograde by progression.
Many astrologers say, Astrology chose them, not they chose astrology. My experience to decide to study Astrology, was quite compelling, straightforward and a definite decision. Having loved the subject as a young girl and continuing the interest in my growing up years , always reading about alchemy and magic, slowly realising that astrology was a big part of both of these studies and in order to go further I knew I needed to study astrology. It took awhile, but I did take up formal study at the age of 35 and 6 mths, exactly when progressed Mercury in my 5th house turned retrograde in Taurus trine Pluto in the 10th. Nataly Mercury is in Pisces and whilst progressing through my fifth house it seemed as though Mercury the traditional ruler of astrology was sending me a message saying -
“Hey - before you go on, there’s something you forgot to do here! You need to study Astrology, you’ll love it, it will totally change and enrich your life”, needless to say, it has and it did. Mercury stays retrograde in the 5th house till I’m sixty, so I suspect there’s a lot more study and learning ahead and a call to a passionate vocation that involves astrology.
Astrology in the Media
Astrology was seemingly debunked in the headlines yet again. The headlines had screamed “Science 1, Astrology 0”.
The HCD research company had asked, “How well do zodiac birth signs predict occupations?” And the company was delighted to report that there was only random correlation and hence there was no proof for astrology. But as astrologers that is precisely what we would also expect, as the analysis by the so called “research” company was only done using zodiac (sun signs) signs.
This research was investigated and then reported in The Mountain Astrologer April/May 2008, which is an esteemed and highly recommended astrological magazine. Inquires by astrologers discovered that the data was verified by the research companies own staff, of which there are NO astrologers.
If astrologers were doing such a research piece, then we would look at the whole chart, all the planets placements, as well as focus on the 10th house, its rulers, and any planets in the 10th; a precise and mammoth task.
With this report we have a great example of how not to do a research program. In this case we had unqualified people devise the program, then analyse it, and finally report it as fact! The company stated that its aims are to focus on providing traditional and e-based marketing and communications research. All they have shown us is exactly how biased, and unprofessional, this research piece really is.
