Uranus transit to the Sun- Pisces

During a Uranus transit to my Sun I found myself doing some research on the revolutionary Che Guevara. It came about because of a study group I belong to where it is custom that every time we meet we have turns presenting a Mystery Chart. The details are forwarded to the whole group and perhaps a few important dates and when we get together it is like  a bit of game  talking about the person , the character, personality, career etc of the “famous”  one without knowing who they are. The presenter, answering,. Yes- No and perhaps guiding with a few questions and clues as we get closer to deciphering who the personality could be. I chose Ernesto ”Che”  Guevara. As I was researching his birth data a few  interesting things came up, he wasn’t born at  the time, nor date that most sources had. Other books, and many astro sites thought it to be on 14 June 1928, but as his mother recalled the story behind his fake birthdate in the book published in 1997 by Lee Andersen ”Che- A Revolutionary Life” . it was indeed the 14th May 1928 at dawn in Rosario Argentina . The birth certificate was  made up due to the fact that his mother  was 3 months pregnant before getting married, and was covered up because of  their high society catholic background. The mother revealing that if her son were not to become famous she would have gone to her grave without revealing his Birth date.
During my Uranus to Sun transit I was quite appropriately reading about “Che”  deciphering his astrology along the way and how it did match up to the dawn birthtime which I chose to be  7;15 am, but am still researching. It became a great way to connect to Uranus, revolutionary thinking and doing. The  understanding of a person so disillusioned with society and its imperialist motivations, someone who was compelled  to live and die for the impoverished and underprivileged, had much to do with my own feelings about the world at the time.  As Che was part of many of the revolutions of the late 50’s and early 60’s the Uranus transit found me a new Hero - someone I could identify with,(but never have the tenacity drive or inclination for guerrilla warfare) -it  helped me to decide that my way in the world was not to be  ordinary, not to take the common road, take the one less travelled,  forge on , be an individual, stand by my own convictions, rights and attitudes and ideals and try and implement all of that  as peacefully and as lovingly as I could. Many correlations to his own astrology, related to mine -  both with Moon in Pisces, Venus  in Taurus, Jupiter in Aries, with Sagittarian and Aquarian overlaps, really helped me identify with my own life mission and goals. Encouraging me to not be afraid to be the individual that I am and not who I’m expected to be, there are  enough sheep in this world. Be yourself - everyone else is taken. Thanks  Uranus and definitely the ultimate Promethean - Che-lives.

2012

December 2012 – Panic or Peace?

by Michelle Proctor, Agent 67

Despite being intrigued by everything 2012 for some years now, I’m not keen to experience the disaster hype of the just-released Hollywood movie, 2012. In contrast, even with its worrying flaws, the 14-part webcast offered mid-year by Drunvalo Melchizedek (author of Serpent of Light: Beyond 2012) offers a positive route through the daunting Mayan prophecies.

Drunvalo was allegedly chosen by Don Alejandro, ‘the living Dalai Lama of the Maya’ * to share on behalf of the Maya their 2012 message, which he reveals toward the end of his extended webcast. According to Drunvalo, the Mayans believe that reduced magnetic fields will cause at least 30 hours of extreme darkness without even the light of the stars to guide us. During these 30 black hours, the layer directly beneath the earth’s crust will apparently ‘melt’ so that the earth’s crust will slide along it and create an earth pole shift.

don

When light returns, each country will apparently be situated elsewhere on earth. For example (by my own fabrication!), Australians might discover that Australia is located where previously Russia was. Instead of reaching for sunblock to protect ourselves from the elements, we might need to reach for thermal underwear.

The Mayan message is that their ancestors have memories of significant earth changes such as  pole shifts and have helpful information on what to do in such cases. This has been passed down through the generations, especially through Mayan star lore, which climaxes with the 2012 end-date. The Mayan focus on 2012 has helped provide a deadline to keep us wondering about and learning from the past, as well preparing for future earth changes.

So why should we listen to the Maya? For a start, they weren’t even around at the last pole shift which was apparently some 700,000 years ago. Secondly, if the earth is going to go through a major cataclysm like a pole shift, it seems there’s not much we can do about it, other than survive or die!

That’s not the message of the Mayans. They encourage us to find ways to stay calm throughout the 30 (or more) hours of darkness so that as few of us as possible die of fright. Apparently it was fear that caused most deaths in previous earth-change phases recorded by the Mayans, even if those phases were not necessarily earth pole shifts.

It seems that the message of that Maya is that if we would like to still be around after 2012 to contribute to the new world and its fresh start, we need to stay calm throughout the 30 hours of pitch darkness. And perhaps this is why Don Alejandro chose Drunvalo as a spokesperson – Drunvalo has been teaching for many years now how to stay calm and in the heart in times of crisis. If we prepare for this time, then perhaps we can be like ocean surfers who contain their fear, ride huge waves and experience blissful transcendence.

Yet many commentators are suspicious of Drunvalo’s intentions in broadcasting his 2012 web update and believe his ego has got in the way. There’s quite a debate going on in spiritual/esoteric circles right now about the integrity or Drunvalo and Don Alejandro and whether or not we should believe them.

Certainly to a mainstream way of thinking, Drunvalo is a ‘kook’. In Serpent of Light he describes how he is a ‘walk-in’; i.e. a ‘star being’ soul that entered the human body of a departing soul and took it over before the body died. That certainly sounds like a quick and original way to incarnate! Yet it also sounds like fiction.

serpent

Even so, I know from my own experience as an energy healer and my personal inner healing journey, that it’s worth considering Drunvalo’s claims. Still many of us spiritual types are gullible to differing degrees. In wanting the world to be soulful, we often forget to ask the hard questions that more scientific types might naturally ask. Yet as they say, truth is often stranger than fiction; discerning between the two is a rewarding challenge.

Of course, Drunvalo Melchizedek is not the only person with something to say about 2012. A quick Google search using the keywords ‘Books 2012 Maya’ yielded over 2 million results. A skim read of the Wikipedia entry ‘2012 Phenomenon’ mentioned some of the key authors on the topic, including John Major Jenkins, whose works I’ve read with interest over the past years.

Whether or not Drunvalo & Don Alejandro’s message is authentic at least they emphasise staying calm, unlike the recent apocalyptic blockbuster 2012. Any book, movie or other media that instils panic seems to me to be more out of touch with reality (not only about 2012, but about how to approach life in general) than ‘a kook’ like Drunvalo.

Surely it makes sense for us not to flip out, but rather to stay present to what is happening and participate in 2012, and indeed our daily lives, with conscious awareness. According to the Maya, conscious calm awareness is the very thing to focus on, not the details of the event itself (assuming a world-changing event does actually come to pass).

As an astrologer, I’ve been intrigued by 2012 for some years now. In a nutshell, the astronomical alignment behind the 2012 Mayan end date is the December Solstice Sun precessing across the Galactic Centre. It’s rare for the December Solstice Sun to align with the Galactic Centre, but in cosmic timing, not that rare. It happens like clockwork every 26,000 years. The ancient Mayans somehow worked out that the next alignment would happen in a window of time around 2012, and they encoded this information into their mythology.

Ancient cultures commonly pass on interpretations of astronomical events through myths, stories and symbols. The Mayans were no exception. Integral to understanding the Mayan end date is the Mayan sacred cross. Linda Schele in Maya Cosmos explains how Mayan sacred cross symbols generally show the intersection of the Ecliptic (the path through the zodiac signs that we see the Sun travel around Earth each day) & the Milky Way (the galaxy that our solar system is within), where we find the Galactic Centre.

This cross image is particularly obvious on the famous lid of King Pacal’s sarcophagus in Palenque, Mexico. It shows King Pacal ascending a tree (representing the Milky Way), the trunk of which is horizontally crossed by a double-headed serpent (representing the Ecliptic). Where the serpent and tree trunk meet, a cross is depicted, indicating the Galactic Centre.

pacallid

It’s only in recent years that astronomers have been able to analyse the Galactic Centre and they describe it thus: “hundreds of white dwarf stars, neutron stars, and black holes bathed in an incandescent fog of multimillion-degree gas.... the turbulent Galactic Center region affects the evolution of the Galaxy as a whole.”http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2002/gcenter/index.html (viewed 20/6/08)

According to John Major Jenkins, author of Galactic Alignment, the Mayans, Hindus and Egyptians believed that periodic astronomical alignments to the Milky Way affect the transformation of consciousness. The Mayans particularly noted alignments to the Galactic Centre as markers of cataclysmic consciousness change. How interesting that science has only newly discovered that ‘the turbulent Galactic Center region affects the evolution of the Galaxy as a whole’.

In ancient Mayan mythology, the home of the gods was at the centre of the universe, so it was important for Mayans to be sure where the centre was. Some argued that the Pleiades pointed to centre or the North polar star. The conflicting beliefs got debated by the different Mayan peoples at Chichen Itza in the 9th century AD and the winning location was determined to be what they called the ‘black hole’ or ‘cosmic crossroads’. Amazingly this is the very same supermassive black hole we now scientifically know to be the true Galactic Centre.

The thrones of Maya kings were erected to align with the Galactic Centre to facilitate a direct line of communication between the Galactic Centre, where their gods resided, and the king as the gods’ human representative. The Sun was seen as symbolic of the king.

The Maya kings were really king-shamans and were required to journey the inner world to retrieve sacred knowledge and the power of rulership. Archaeological records have shown that Mayan kings used hallucinogenic mushrooms to enter ecstatic trances so that their spirits could journey to the cosmic centre. The knowledge king-shamans brought back was seen as important to moving the culture forward.

When the king-shamans died it was believed their souls were transported to the cosmic centre and reborn in the Otherworld. It was understood that eventually these souls were reincarnated into new bodies. It’s important at this point to note that in Mayan mythology, the Milky Way is the cosmic mother, and her womb is the Galactic Centre.

Essentially the cosmic father, the king, symbolised by the Sun, would enter the dark rift of the Milky Way in order to be rebirthed through the cosmic mother’s womb. At the top of the sacred tree on King Pacal’s tomb is a bird. The bird represents the transformation of the soul into a new life.

This mythic story is being played out in our galaxy right now during this window of time when the precessed Solstice Sun aligns with the Galactic Centre. The ancient Mayans believed that at the time when they could visibly track the Sun, the cosmic father, entering the dark rift at the crossroads of the Galactic Centre, one age would end, and a new age would begin.

Keep in mind that it’s only going to look as if the Sun is entering the black hole of the Galactic Centre on 21st December 2012 when it rises on that solstice morning. Our sun is actually 25,000 light years away from the Galactic Centre so it’s not literally falling into it.

Modern-day Western astrologers see the Sun as a symbol of the life spark in an individual’s chart. Yet in a country’s chart, the Sun still represents the king/queen, president, prime minister or other type of ruler. In the 21st-century the role of individuals has far greater significance than in ancient Mayan times. Back then it was only the king-shamans who went on spirit or soul journeys to the Galactic Centre and came back with information for the people. These days we can each as individuals meditate on the Galactic Centre as a symbol of the divine source and seek our own messages. Or we can collectively meditate and seek wisdom for humanity.

According to astronomers, whether the precessed Solstice Sun makes its closest alignment to the Galactic Centre on December 2012 is debatable, but we are definitely in the window of time when the precessed Solstice Sun is making its rare alignment. Whether exactly 2012 or not, this event has been forming slowly for thousands and thousands of years and is happening in a window of time between 1999 and 2018.

Between now and 2012, and beyond that to 2018, any solstice (winter or summer) is a perfect time for meditating on the Galactic Centre, yet December solstices are especially powerful times. Just be sure to ground yourself before meditating on the Galactic Centre so that you’re able to integrate any intuitive insights to continue enjoying life as a spiritual being in a human body!

Annual solstices and equinoxes have always signalled significant wheel-of-the-year turning points to humans. The ancients aligned many of their monuments (for example, stone circles or pyramids) to solstice or equinox Suns so that these days could be celebrated and the energy of those days received. The solstices happen in December and June each year. Whether we experience them as winter or summer solstices depends on which hemisphere we live in.

To my way of thinking, December 2012 carries the energy of change in the same way that full moons and eclipses do, just to a greater degree. When the energy of the Moon takes over (e.g. full moons) we’re prone to ‘lunacy’. Under a solar eclipse, the energy of the Moon also takes over and again we’re prone to anxiety, panic, hysteria and other imbalances. At the December 2012 solstice, the precessed Sun is ‘consumed’ by the ‘womb’ energy of the Galactic Centre. Perhaps this also naturally tends to encourage a fear response in us humans.

Yet what if all this womb/Moon type energy is not actually something to be feared, but something to be welcomed? Anxiety and excitement are two ends of the same energy pole. What if we’re receiving ‘excitement’ input from the cosmos but interpreting it as cause for anxiety? What if our systems get overloaded not because there’s something to fear but because there’s something amazing going on? Swinging between anxiety and excitement can be exhausting, as can staying in one extreme or the other. And according to the Mayans, it can be deadly. Finding ways to stay calm, grounded and centred sounds like a far better option to me. After all I’m keen on surfing the 2012 wave, if or when it comes.

Eclipse Gate 2012

Olga Morales - Agent33

“Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn her Seven Pillars”
Proverbs 9.1

In 2012, two magnificent eclipses will shadow our Earth, one in May across Hong Kong, Tokyo, across the Pacific Ocean into Western United States and the other in November directly over Cairns, Australia. Astrologically, they both connect with very significant stars that the ancients gave much spiritual credence to. These two eclipses both precede the end of the Mayan Calendar that is said to end on the 21st December and according to John Major Jenkins, an alignment of the Solstice Sun with the Milky Way culminates a World Age.1

Eclipses come and go without much interest for many, however the Hermetic astrologers of the mystery schools of Egypt and Greece knew that an eclipse created a tunnel to higher realms where they could communicate directly with the star gods and access their sacred wisdom. It was a cosmic thoroughfare and stellar gateway. Scientific tests have shown that during an eclipse, electromagnetic fields increased significantly, especially near scared sites. What could it mean for us?

pleides

On May 20th a solar eclipse will occur, one that I believe is why 2012 is so cosmically significant. The Sun and the Moon (New Moon) will be exactly conjunct Alcyone, the central star of the Pleiades, in Taurus. The Pleiadian star system has been one of the most revered cosmic objects in history, poetry and mythology across all cultures. According to the cultural traditions, the seven visible stars of the Pleiades have been referred to by many names, such as the Seven Sisters, Krittika, Kimah, Flock of Doves, Hens, Virgins of Spring, Sailor's Stars and the seven Atlantic Sisters. "The Pleiades were known as Seven Sisters by indigenous people In North Ameica, Siberia and Australia and this common heritage means they were described more than 40,000 years ago. 2

`The Pleiades seem to be among the first stars mentioned in astronomical literature, appearing in the Chinese annuls of 2357 BC, Alcyone, the lucida, then being near the vernal equinox..And their beginning of the year gave rise to the title `The Great Year of the Pleiades' for the cycle of precession of about 25, 900 years. 3

Professor Charles Piazzi Smyth in the late 19th century suggested that that the seven chambers of the Great Pyramid of Giza commemorate these seven stars. 4

"And here is a wonderful corresponding fact, that the date of the Great Pyramids completion, at midnight of the autumnal equinox.the Pleiades were distributed over the meridian of this pyramid, with Alcyone precisely on the line. 5

What if the Great Pyramid was actually built in honor of the Pleiades when they rose at the vernal equinox 2336 BC and completed by 2170, as suggested by Siess. According to Albert Churchward the name of the Great Pyramid was `Khuti,' which denoted the seven Lights, or Glorious Ones. `Egyptian texts allude to Pleiades' archaic significance as Krittitas, judges of men, assigning them also to seven planetary spheres as the seven Hathors. The dead had to speak the names of these Goddesses to pass their `critical' examination and enter paradise. 6

I believe this is the source of the Judgement of the Dead linked with the month of November, when the Pleiades are high in the night sky. In the Halls of Amenti, Maat and Thoth weighed the souls of the dead against the feather of truth as did Archangel Michael on the day of judgement, All Soul's Day, 2nd November. The ancient Celtic civilisation gathered to celebrate the festival of death `Samhain' during the dark night of October 31st and at midnight, a time of death to the old year and birth to the new, it was the Celtic New Year. November is the month of the dead and Scorpio and ruling planet Pluto are all connected with death and rebirth. The Persians called November Mordad, or "Angel of Death." I often wonder how the zodiac signs acquired their symbolism, for example why Scorpio and its eight house and ruler Pluto are all linked to death and rebirth? What I have found through my research into The Pleiades, might be the answer. It has been recorded in the Babylonian Talmud that the flood of Biblical Noah was the result of two stars falling from Khima (the Pleiades) towards earth. Could this correspond with the legend of the lost pleid? Was this the sinking of Atlantis and the end of the Golden Age and thus we still mourn the dead in November? I discovered some very confirming evidence in the book When the Earth Nearly Died by Allen and Delair. They argue that the world experienced total catastrophe in 9500 BC when a Vela supernova exploded and the Earth's axis subsequently tilted to 23 and a half degrees and the Age of Darkness took hold. What I found in the book was this. "Chinese traditions similarly tell how, during the time of the legendary emperor Ya-hou: `a brilliant star issued from the constellation of Yin' prior to a tremendous global upheaval. 7

I searched my Chinese Astrology book and found the Yin Star to correspond with Beta Scorpionis (Graffias, a triple star situated in the head of the Scorpion) and connected with plenty of water (flood). The symbol of Yin and Yang thus represents Scorpio (Yin) and its opposite sign Taurus (Yang). Remember in November, the Sun is in Scorpio but at night The Pleiades are high in the sky, in Taurus. Thus, does the symbolism of the constellations, zodiac signs and planets reflect actual historical events? Many ancient traditions state that Alcyone was the Central Spiritual Sun that emits creative Light, that which sends great teachers of Light into the world. It was believed to be the centre of the Universe around which our own solar system revolves but this idea is not supported by our current astronomers although in the 1850's it well accepted. "Science has at last discovered that the Sun is not a dead centre, with planets and comets wheeling around it but itself stationary. It is now ascertained that the Sun is also in motion, around some other and vastly mightier centre. Astronomers are not fully agreed as to what or where that centre is. Some however believe that they have found the direction of it to be the Pleiades, and particularly Alcyone.

To the distinguished astronomer, Prof.J.H, Maedler belongs the honour of having made this discovery. Alcyone, then, as far as science can perceive, would seem to be the "midnight throne" in which the whole system of gravitation has a central seat, and from which the Almighty governs his universe. 8

An astronomer will tell you this is complete rubbish but I want to go back to the ancient traditions. Alcyone was called Al Wasat, the Central One by the Arabs and Temennu, the Foundation Stone by the Babylonians. The next quotation I found in a wonderful book on ancient constellations called the Mazzaroth."Wasat, an Arabic name of Alcyone, transmitted by Ulugh Beigh from early Arabian astronomy, is the centre. It thus testifies, like that of Alcyone, to the knowledge of the first astronomers of the long lost but lately removed fact, that in this group is the centre of the revolving, contains the same reference, if explained by its primitive roots. The ancient name Alcyone, now so celebrated in the annuals of science, is evidently of Oriental origin, having the Arabic and old Hebrew article Al, prefixed to its root Cyon, centre. Its meaning, centre, foundation, anticipates one of the greatest achievements of modern astronomy, the discovery that to this point, this centre, gravitates the whole magnificent arrangement of the stars called the Galaxy, to which our sun belongs.9

Does Cyon not sound like Sion/Zion - the heavenly city of God? "Glorious things of Thee are spoken, Zion city of our God." Psalm 87. The Hebrews believed it to be the City of David- the City of the Lord- the City of Foundation.I found an intriguing article by ken Raines on the Internet called `Jehovah: Ancient Astronaut from the Pleiades?'10

Apparently for 62 years, 1891 - 1953, the Watchtower Society (Jehovah's Witness) taught that God resided on the star Alcyone in the Pleiades constellation and that from this star he governed the universe. It was also stated that the City of Zion in heaven was Alcyone. Much of this was based on Rev. Joseph Seiss' book, Miracle in Stone, that he based heavily on Prof. Piazzi Smyth's Our Inheritance in the Great Pyramid. I'm going to add something here, just for a bit of bite. According to David Icke, 11 Charles Taze Russell, the founder of the Watchtower Society was a high degree Mason. Why am I going here? Because secret societies keep ancient wisdom behind locked doors. I have a book by Robert Hewitt Brown; a 32-degree Mason called Stellar Theology and Masonic Astronomy. On page 54 is a picture of a mystic ladder that leads to the seven stars of the Pleiades. He explains, `This Masonic emblem, has a direct allusion to the vernal equinox, and thus becomes a beautiful symbol of immortality, reminding us, also, of that starry home beyond the grave to which the soul of man aspires. It was for these reasons that, of all the `hosts of heaven' the Pleiades were selected as an emblem by our ancient brethren. 12

Is there a Pleiadian conspiracy? Who wants to keep us in the dark? The Mayans called the Pleiades `the cranary" for it was the seedbed of their civilisation and the cosmic star mother who gave her children the codes of light.13

Jose Arguelles describes the beginning of the current Mayan Age from 3113 BC - 2718BC, which is said to end in 2012, the Baktun of the Star Planting. For him, the Maya were star-beings, from a starbase, possibly in the Pleiades called Valum Chivim.14

Does this suggest that every 5200 years, the Earth experiences a massive star seeding? This brings me back to the Eclipse in May conjunct Alcyone, remember the ancients believed an eclipse created a tunnel to their star gods - could a portal open directly to Alcyone? If you believe all the chanelled material regarding the Pleiadians, they are returning to aid our planetary ascension into a higher frequency. In Australia, on the 14th November, a Solar Eclipse will shadow across our land, the centreline directly over Cairns. This eclipse will be exactly conjunct the Fixed Star of Serpens in Scorpio. The Serpent is one of the most ancient of symbols denoting wisdom used by high initiates in the mystery schools. `Many Gnostic traditions identified the Serpent with Jesus. In the Pistis Sophia, Jesus was the serpent who spoke to Eve `from the tree of knowledge and the tree of life, which were in the paradise of Adam. 15

Mark Amaru Pinkham in his book The Return of the Serpents of Wisdom, explores the worldwide migration of serpents, some from Mu (Lemuria), and others from Atlantis. They were called Nagas, Naguals, Nacaals, Adders, Djedhi, Amarus, Levites, Lung Dragons and Quetzlcoatls. In ancient Aramaic, Jesus was called a nagger 16 which in the Bible was mistranslated as a carpenter when in actual fact I found the word for carpenter to be nanger. Jesus was a nagger - a serpent of wisdom. According to Pinkham, at thirteen Jesus left Palestine and set off to study the mystery traditions of other branches of Serpents of Wisdom around the globe. His subsequent adventures are currently mentioned within various records, including the travels of `Issa' (Asian name for Jesus) which were discovered in 1887 by the Russian adventurer Nicholas Notavich in a monastery in Ladakh.' 17

There are many traditions, which also state that the Serpents were Extra-terrestrials. ` Some of the Interstellar Serpents on Atlantis came from the Celestial Serpent, the Pleiades. [According to Dhyani Ywahoo] the records of Cherokees, these androgynous Serpents are known as the `sacred seven,' and said to have traveled from the universal seat of Divine Mind, the Pleiades, in order to instill within developing humankind the spark of the individuated mind. Once on the Earth the Pleiadian missionaries mated with the human population and their progeny spread throughout Atlantis.' 18

Could this be the source of the Fallen Angels in The Book of Enoch?

This Pleiadian and Atlantean mating was also mentioned by Greek Historian Diodorus who claimed that Celoene and Alcyone, two of the seven Pleiadian sisters, had mated with Poseidon, King of Atlantis and their offspring populated Atlantis. The Maya/Aztec called the Pleiades the `tzab' (rattle) - that of a snake and every 52 years, in the middle of November, when the Pleiades were directly at the zenith at midnight at Mexican latitude, it was believed that the world would end; it had already been destroyed and re-created four times in the past. The New Fire Ceremony was held once they knew that they were safe for another 52 years. Using my Solarfire software, I calculated a chart for 14th November at midnight, and Alcyone is exactly at the zenith point at the Latitude of Yucatan in Mexico. Therefore, the Eclipse over Australia coincides with the New Fire Ceremony - the symbolic beginning of the New World. 52 years is a micro cycle of the greater 5200 years of each of the Mayan world ages being a fifth of the Great Cycle of 26,000, originally called the Great Year of Pleiades. In 2012, we have reached the end of an Age and thus at the dawn of a New World.

In esoteric literature, Australia has always been believed to be the land to host a mass spiritual awakening. Australia is said to be a fragment of Lemuria or `Mu' - an ancient motherland of advanced spiritual light beings (nagas) now below the pacific. The Australian Aborigines are believed to be direct descendants of Lemuria, much like the Native Americans, Mayans and the Incas. Will this Eclipse put Australia on the map as the spiritual center of the New Age? See you in Cairns!

Co -creating a Sustainable Communities

In August 2006 The Melbourne International film festival screened “A Crude Awakening”, a documentary about the planet’s oil crisis. Erik Zimmerman1 attended the first screening on 6th August at 1:00pm and to use his own words “that film literally changed my life”.

Erik is a Scorpio with Sun conjunct the midheaven (MC),  The Sabian symbol for Erik’s Sun is “a GOLD rush tears men away from their native soil”2 and Lynda Hill includes as key words “Having a cause or mission to pursue…… dropping everything to chase a project”. He is a man of great integrity with a determination to succeed in his professional life. His 5th house Gemini Moon indicates a creative thinker and communicator while his Aquarian ascendant makes him a great networker and someone able to see a different world. His loaded 9th house and Neptune in the 10th give him the ability to inspire others and his Pisces North Node indicates that ultimately he needs to serve others.

Upon seeing “A Crude Awakening” Erik realized his mission. He felt so strongly about this that he left his high powered corporate position in one of our largest banks to set up Rezeko, a family business intent on establishing Solar Neighbourhoods.

On the day of the screening the Sun was at 13 Leo exactly conjunct his descendant, “Cherub like, a human soul whispers into every receptive ear, seeking to manifest”3. Erik heard the call. Mercury was square his Mercury challenging some of his own beliefs and being opposite his Mars, pulled him to action. The Sabian symbol for this Mercury is “a leader of men wrapped in an invisible cloak of power”. Lynda goes on to say “there comes the time… when we have to rise to the occasion as someone in charge or as a decision maker…”4

There were several other transits Erik was experiencing at this time making him ripe for change and challenge: Pluto square Pluto and Uranus conjunct the progressed (pr) ascendant and square the pr MC and Sun stand out.

In November 2007 Maureen from Hepburn Springs (Agent 77’s home town) in Central Victoria visited an alternative energy expo. At this expo Maureen met Erik and was inspired to form the Hepburn Solar Neighbourhood: a group of local households prepared to commit to installing solar panels to reduce their carbon footprint, reduce their energy bills, feed electricity back into the grid and become part of the solution not the problem.

We all need to acknowledge that our earth’s resources are precious, that our planet is in strife and it is up to each of us to do what we can to protect and conserve our environment. We also need leaders who not only inspire but deal with the practicalities of ideals. In our community Maureen is one of these people, an idealistic and passionate Leo with the practical ability of Capricorn and Virgo and the smarts of Gemini.

Saturn moved into Virgo in September 2007 (see article Saturn in Virgo ) urging us all to get real about our resources. Maureen’s birth chart has Saturn in Virgo and Virgo on the MC. Her chart is presented below5 .

Maureen was our prime motivator for this successful community project so let’s have a look at her natal chart first and then the relevant transits. Her Sun sits in the 8th house and the Sabian symbol for this degree is “brilliant SUNSHINE after a storm” 6! How apt is that for a SOLAR electricity project. The 8th house holds our collective resources and Maureen has her main luminary here with powerful Pluto (the modern ruler of her 11th house of community). Her Gemini Moon is in the 6th house, the house of service to others. It also rules her MC. Maureen has a knack for bringing people together and sharing ideas. Lynda Hill 7 suggests the degree of Maureen’s Moon is about “rising above conditioning and limitations, breaking free”.

muareen

She has Saturn in Virgo in the 9th giving her a natural connection with the earth, concern for its resources and also the ability to act as a leader and an authority, to inspire others. Saturn rules her Capricorn ascendant and so serves as a prime motivator for her. Maureen approaches things with a view to how they will impact not just on her own life but on the planet as well. She researches carefully and is a reliable and committed community person. With a Virgo MC and Pisces North Node she is able to imagine the ideal and work steadily towards it.

On September 11th 2007 there was a SOLAR eclipse at 17 Virgo, within 6 minutes of arc to her natal Saturn. This eclipse was compelling for Maureen and events unfolded to allow her to use this Saturn in a powerful and resourceful manner.

Two months later, on November 10th 2007, she met Erik Zimmerman of Rezeko.8

Maureen’s Capricorn ascendant is ruled by Saturn and Erik’s Aquarius ascendant is ruled by Uranus. Both planets have a prominent role in this story. It has unfolded as the Saturn Uranus opposition has slowly formed. Uranus rules change, electricity and also has an affinity with all things alternative. Saturn is about structure and building strong systems. It’s also about taking responsibility. So the unfolding opposition gives us insight into structures that need changing.

How fortunate for the folk of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs that the universe conspired to bring these two charismatic and motivated people together that day.

The transits to Maureen’s chart are illuminating: It was the day of the new Moon in Scorpio: “a quiet path through woods brilliant in Autumn coloring” and key words include “the quiet path one must take to accomplish a mission”9 the Sun and Moon were at 17 Scorpio in her 11th house sextile her Saturn and square her Pluto, bringing in Erik and posing a challenge that she would bring to her community.

The North Node was on her Jupiter suggesting a fortuitous meeting, Mercury on her Mars bringing “tremendous intellectual energy”10, Venus was approaching a trine to her Jupiter “you may meet someone who will be of service to you later” 11, Mars was conjunct her descendant, Jupiter was square the MC and Saturn, bringing a drive to achieve something publicly. Saturn was at 7 Virgo beginning its long approach to her own Saturn, Maureen’s second Saturn return. It was also forming a T square with her Moon Ceres opposition, compelling her to act to conserve mother Earth. Uranus was opposite Maureen’s Saturn encouraging a movement forward, beyond old structures. Neptune opposed the Sun and Pluto was squaring her MC. Ceres was in Taurus square the Sun and Pluto. Wow, what a day astrologically, every body in the sky closely aspecting every body in the natal chart.

Maureen organized a community meeting in a local pub for 9th April and at the Town Hall for 28th April 2008.On the 9th it was an information session, gathering people together to inform and gauge interest in the concept of a SOLAR NEIGHBOURHOOD. The Sun was exalted in action oriented Aries and the Moon was, of course, in Gemini (conjunct transiting Ceres). By this time Saturn was retrograding through Virgo, giving us all pause for reflection on our own footprints and ability to nurture the Earth rather than continue to abuse. After its retrogradation Mars had returned to mid Cancer and Jupiter had moved from Maureen’s 12th to her first and into Capricorn. Cancer rules our homes and Mars brings activity, Jupiter in Capricorn brings an interconnectedness, an ability to see how people can work together to really achieve a united dream.

The second meeting was held with the Moon in Aquarius, indicative of the people’s commitment to working together for change that is in the interest of us all and our planet. The Sun was now in Taurus. All earth signs are resonant of a caring and nurturing of the earth’s resources and our own. Would we have the money to participate in the proposed scheme, would we commit? With the strong fixed energy it seemed that we would.

That night it was decided that there were enough people committed to the concept that the dream could become a reality. In partnership with Rezeko about 35 households signed up to create the Hepburn Solar Neighbourhood. Through Rezeko, we ordered a container load of solar panels direct from the manufacturer, cutting the cost dramatically. The idea was to have a neighbourhood of homes all installing these panels over a period of time. This also cut down on the cost of the installation because the electricians were assured of 35 jobs all within 15 km of each other. We were able to install panels on each roof capable of generating 1 kilowatt of electricity for the low outlay of $9000-$10500 and were assured of the government rebate of $8000. So for as little as $1000-$1500 per household we have our “solar neighbourhood”.

The first panels were rolled out on 30th October 2008, the day after the new Moon in Scorpio (which incidentally was conjunct Erik’s Sun and MC).  The new Moon in Scorpio featured earlier in the story. Scorpio sits on the cusp of the 8th house in the natural wheel and so has an affinity with shared resources. Pluto, its modern ruler sits in the 8th house for both Erik and Maureen, they share this concern for conserving the earth’s resources. Maureen’s vision for our community had become a reality and transiting Saturn in Virgo was exactly conjunct her natal Saturn, back to the eclipse point. The Saturn Uranus opposition was just reaching exactitude…and the dream was made manifest.

Those of us who signed up for the panels now have the pleasure and satisfaction of watching our electricity meters running backwards. This means that we are powering our own homes and feeding energy back into the grid.

Rezeko has now established 55 Solar Neighbourhoods around Victoria. The latest community to sign up is in Gisborne with 300 households committed. Yes, that’s 300 (well done Gisborne).
If you feel inspired to do something for the planet and yourselves please consider generating your own clean, green electricity from the Sun. Contact Erik at Rezeko. If you would like your home energy rated and a walk through energy audit of your home contact Maureen.12

The story is not over. Once the Hepburn Solar Neighbourhood participants have all received their $8000 rebates we will be getting together to see how we can order and install solar hot water services….and then it might be rain water tanks ….and then grey water systems…..and then…..

This was written to explain the astrology and with the hope that you might be inspired,  see how simple it can be to do something positive for our planet…get your friends together and co-create a sustainable future.

Work with the Anima Mundi, the time is NOW.
